Emma Harrison

Thanks for visiting the A4e blog section of the site. I'm Emma Harrison and if you want to find out a bit more about me and the people I work with every day, then this is the place to be.

I set up A4e over 20 years ago to help workers in the steel industry who'd lost their jobs as the steelworks closed down one by one.

I never imagined that twenty years later it would be this amazing company, full of people who are passionate about improving people's lives all over the world.

I work hard to make my company a place where people are inspired, encouraged and empowered, so I can be sure that we have the best staff working towards helping people back into employment.

On top of that I am Mum to four brilliant children, my husband Jim runs a brewery from our home and on weekends I sometimes like to make homemade soups and get out and about in my VW Camper Van (once it's fully restored!)

Please have a read through my blog and let me know what you think.

Mark Lovell

Hello and welcome to the A4e blog section of the site where you can find out more about us and what we've been up to.

I'm Mark Lovell and I started with A4e back in 1991 as Emma's first employee. It's hard to believe that's nearly 20 years ago now. We have an aim at A4e to tackle poverty and work hard towards promoting social and economic development.

As we begin to expand our global activity we are realising our vision of creating a social purpose company that supports and helps people get back on their feet through sustainable and suitable employment.

In my home life I enjoy watching and playing football and love spending time with my two children and three dogs.

This blog is a place for me to talk openly about everything I get involved in to make our vision a reality.

Roy Newey

Hi and thanks for visiting our A4e blogs. I’m Roy Newey and I joined the company back in 2000. My role is to develop A4e’s global presence.

I was drawn to start working with A4e about 10 years ago because there are so many great people in A4e who share a passion and energy about Improving Peoples Lives.

I have to pinch myself each day to believe that we get the chance to support so many people whose lives have become bleak when they are surrounded by the darkness of unemployment and poverty. Through the magic of our staff and an “I can” attitude we are able to transform people, families and communities around the world.

I am always excited about the opportunity to establish A4e in many new countries because our mission is to 'improve people's lives' and this is a message which translates into any language. I am married to Sam (my boss) and we have two great children who teach me about life everyday. Two years ago I ran the London Marathon, I was not first to finish but it was a great experience and I have enormous admiration for anyone who tackles this event.

Have a read of the blogs and drop me a line to let me hear your ideas.

A4e Marketing

Hi my name is Bette the A4e Marketing Office Dog who lives in Sheffield. "How can a dog work in Marketing?" I hear you ask. Well it's my main job to meet and greet everyone who comes to Marketing & Development and make sure all visitors are made to feel happy and at ease with a good lick! Of course I also have some serious skills in inspiring the team to think up of new and creative ways of getting the A4e message out there whilst also being an expert in communication skills (as I will speak to anybody with food!)

I came to A4e after Valentines Weekend 2009. I was found abandoned by Luke O' Neil the Group Marketing Coordinator and it was a bit of a rocky start but as you will see from my blog I now live a great life surrounded by the staff at A4e who have all taken me to their hearts. This blog is an update on all the different things that are happening in Marketing and let you know all the great people I get to meet as Luke goes and films success stories about all the people who have worked to Improve their Lives through A4e.

Email me at any time and let me know what you think of the blog. You can get hold of me through marketing@a4e.co.uk I am always interested in any great ideas, your videos, success stories, news & views and also if you would like to send me food or request a personal appearance at an event!

Woof woof!

Bette xxx
